22nd ANNUAL Y-ME SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT/ FOOD DRIVE

Dear Friend,
This year marks the 22nd Annual Y-Me Softball Tournament on August 27, 2016 when more than 1,000 women stand together to help find a cure for breast cancer. It is a day of fun, awareness and friendship where survivors and competitive softball players take the field to raise money for breast cancer research. We are excited to announce again this year that all of the proceeds of the 22nd Annual Y-Me Softball Tournament will directly endow investigations conducted by breast cancer researcher, Dr. Kay Macleod at the University of
Chicago Medicine, Ben May Institute.
We have toured her laboratory and seen the promising and exciting work being done by Dr. Macleod and her researchers as they work to find new treatments and end this dreadful disease. In her most recent published work, Dr. Macleod publicly credits the tournament’s funding for supporting her current findings (www.y-mesoftball.com).Your generous support will allow us
to provide continued capital for the important investigations that are underway. It is imperative that these research efforts persist at an accelerated pace and that can only be done with your as- sistance and donations, because today, someone’s mother, wife, sister, friend or neighbor will be diagnosed with breast cancer.
Gratefully, we have relied on businesses like yours to support this event through donations that help underwrite the cost of this tax exempt charity tournament. Last year, we presented a check for $55,000 to Dr. Macleod and our goal is to surpass that amount in 2016. This annual one-day event has become a game changer, and we, along with health care professionals and researchers, are committed to finding a cure. The fight against breast cancer involves us all and with your support we will be victorious!
